Yes. Completely. Your artworks, images, CV, exhibitions and writing are yours, and 1BURO is built so you can leave with all of them at any time. You can export your entire account as a single portable file whenever you want — see Back up your data. We never claim rights over your work, and we don't sell or share your data.

You keep your work. Your account exports to a plain, documented archive you can download and open without us, and 1BURO can be self-hosted — the same code runs on your own server. The whole system is designed so that no bill and no company outage can hold your records hostage. If we vanished tomorrow, your last export would still open.

Never. Adding people — a studio assistant, a curator, a collaborator — is always free. We think charging per head punishes exactly the collaboration the independent scene runs on. When 1BURO costs money, it's for storage and AI usage, never for headcount.

No. 1BURO is for independent artists, curators and small non-profits — people organising their own practice and their own shows. It isn't a sales CRM for a commercial gallery and it doesn't treat your work as inventory to move. It's a place to keep your records straight, build a site with a point of view, and collaborate on shows — on your terms.

A share is a read-only link to a specific selection of works — a portfolio you send to a curator or an open call. It shows only what you put in it; nobody can browse the rest of your studio from it. Delete the link and it stops working immediately, with no waiting period. Access you grant to an organiser works the same way: it's a revocable window into just the work you've shared, and either side can close it — after which the work stops appearing for them. Private by default. Nothing you enter is public until you choose it — every work has website and portfolio toggles, prices can be hidden per work, and private notes never leave your account. There are no third-party trackers and no surveillance analytics: we don't embed advertising pixels or profile your visitors. What little we measure is first-party and aggregate. Private and password-walled sites are never indexed by search engines.

Yes. Every account gets a free yourname.1buro.app address that works immediately with HTTPS. When you're ready, connect your own domain — you add one DNS record at your registrar and the certificate is issued automatically; we never ask for your registrar login or take control of your domain.
